day I called upon Shewan Tomes & Co., but am sorry to say I there
experienced far more difficulties than expected. In the firet
place I was informed that Mr.Schluter was in Canton and would not
be allowed to return, this as you will understand is a very serious

The liquidation of R.B.& Co. appears to me to be entirely in
the hands of Er.Young (of S.T.& Co.) and from what I can gather
from The Attorney General and Mr. Shewan they leave him to
adjudicate and settle all points of the old Texas Agreement.
result is that he makes claim to the new consignment in the

R.B.& Co. and Sanders Rehders & Co. still holds good, as the
six monthe notice between the parties has not been tendered.
Therefore whatever the Texas Co. consign to this part of China or 5.R.& Co.Ltd. is also to be shared by (the liquidators) R.B. Co.
